Thomas Morris

Tenor

The french tenor Thomas Morris was born in 1971 in Paris. He studied voice with Georgette Rispal of the Paris Opera, while studying humanities and russian at the university of Paris-Sorbonne. He received first prize at the superior singing competition of Paris conservatories, and also won prizes at many international competitions, including those of Marseille, Trevise, Marmande, and Verviers. In 2000, he was awarded the french music high prize at the Henri Sauguet/Yves Saint-Laurent international competition.
Thomas Morris has sung in many of europe's most important theatres including those in Paris, Strasbourg, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Toulouse, Montpellier, Bordeaux, Toulon, Avignon, Rennes, Tours, Nantes, Lille, Rouen, Auvers-sur-Oise, Caen, Compiegne, Bologne, Cagliari, Cosenza, Genoa, Macerata, Martina Franca, Naples, Padua, Treviso, Torino, Venice, Baden-Baden, Dresde, Cologne, Bregenz, Vienna, Geneve, Lausanne, Prague, Bratislava, and Vilnius. Particularly appreciated for the character tenor roles, he is also an accomplished artist for recitals and oratorio.
